Mrs Horton covers both teachers for their PPA time. She also covers 6AB every Friday.

Important Days

PE- In Year 6 our PE day is a Thursday. You must come dressed in your PE uniform. We are really lucky this Autumn Term as we have our specialist PE coach, Max, working with us in Year 6!

Homework – We send home a ‘Homework Grid’ which can be found by clicking on the link below. We expect you to read at least 3 times per week and learn your times tables! We may also ask you to check out some maths on Abacus – anything we ask you to do will be written in your homework diaries.

Reading diaries are checked every single Thursday and homework diaries are checked by an adult once a week.

Topic

Our topic for Autumn Term is called ‘Born Survivors’, it is mainly based around our class book called Kensuke’s Kingdom’. We’ll be looking closely at the language Michael Morpurgo uses and how Michael manages to survive on an Island by himself. We will be creating our own survival bar in DT, drawing and painting a wave in the style of Hokusai and writing our own ending to the story. In science we will be learning all about the human body and to bring this to life we will be visiting Eureka! the science museum – exciting!
