Intent

Knowing about the world around them is an important aspect of a child’s development and supports their understanding of a sense of place and belonging. At Sherwood our geography curriculum aims to:

• spark children’s curiosity and fascination about the world.
• equip pupils with knowledge about different places, people, resources and natural and human environments.
• deepen the children’s understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes, how they are interconnected, how they are formed, how the landscape and environment is used and how they change over time.
• experience the opportunity to develop their fieldwork skills practically – observe, measure, record and present information collected from various locations
