Year 4 Residential March 2023

Sherwood Forest 22-23 March 2023

Wow! What an incredible two days year 4 had on their residential to Sherwood Forest. All the children were fantastic representatives of our school and showed Notts Outdoors staff and the YHA staff, just how amazing our school is. The children worked hard as a team to build a shelter to protect them from the rain (or should we say, Mrs Brewin and Miss Anson with a bucket of water!). Then they had to follow directions and clues to orienteer around a course to find the missing word. We found this tricky and had to use our observation skills and our geography knowledge of a compass - luckily, we had learnt this last term so we were pros! After a busy first day outside, we all enjoyed some free time before settling down to watch a film. The children must have been tired as they were all asleep by 11:30pm. On the second day, the children went on a mission to find the Major Oak and took the adults on a 2 hour walk! The adults were very tired but thankfully, no one complained and we were able to have a chilled afternoon playing games on the field and in the adventure playground before we went home.

Celebration: We were given two medals to award to two people who stood out over the residential. It was a very hard choice as all children were incredible. Joshua and Caleb won the medals for their teamwork, bravery, incredible behaviour over the two days. Well done boys!

The year 4 adults would like to say a massive thank you to all the children for being superstars and making the residential so fun.
